Train picture

A very packed train, same time of night as the other picture. The second class cars are still overflowing with people. It is way easier here to take the train into downtown than it is to take a car. Faster too, 25 min by train, hour/hour and a half by car. One of the ultimate goals of public transportation has been attained: it is preferable to driving.

Maybe when I go, I can wear a dress, and I can also ride on the ladies train...

Yes, how will you two work that out? I doubt that K will be interested in crowding into that sardine can on wheels. Are there some first class cars that are for both sexes and that aren't so crowded?

I'm thinking the full burqa disguise, like a fleeing cleric. Very mysterious, very demure, interested men trailing, Evelyn intervenes with whispers of leprosy...

Yeah, that's the way to low-impact tourism. If you see riots on the news (like the news here would cover things that happened outside the country or Iraq), so if you hear about riots on the BBC, you'll know I tried to get into the ladies 1st class car.

i think we would travel separately. i dont know how keen i am on squishing in with a bunch of men.
you can travel regular first class and it is a little better, but it isnt easy. you have to start working towards the door a stop ahead of time.
i dont think k would pass as a lady. i will see what i can do about finding a burka though.
